The migration of the giant humpback whales is taking place.

In the next months (January-May) the migration of the giant humpback whales is taking place. Together with their smaller friends, the dolphins, they are coming down from the colder waters of the northern hemisphere to warm their bodies and to give birth in the pleasant warm waters of the Caribbean sea. The humpback whales are famous of their long migratory routes. Some groups, which you find here come all the way from Iceland or Greenland, crossing the Atlantic ocean. The reason for this migration is that they prefer to mate and give birth in warmer waters, but that the best food for them is to be found in the colder, northern waters. In the Caribbean waters they barely eat and they use their fat reserves (blubber) to stay alive. When the mating is over and the newborn whales are strong enough for the journey back north, the whales move back to their feeding grounds. In the winter months there is a big chance to spot them in the area between the Bahamas and Grenada, with the highest chances on the Silver Bank in the Dominican Republic. It appears that they like the shallow waters between St. Maarten and the island Anguilla.

We would love to see those giant angels of the sea and we spend time in our meditation program looking for them in this area. It must be an amazing experience to meet them and to melt with their magnificent energy in meditation. If you want to share this experience with us than we suggest you follow the example of these wise animals to change the cold Noordzee for the warm welcoming ocean of St Maarten for some weeks!
